Thoovanam Waterfall is situated within the Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary Sanctuary near Kerala - Tamil Nadu border and it arises from the Pambar River, which is enveloped by richness of nature in abundance in addition to variety of flora and fauna. This is one of the best spots among alluring attractions in Munnar to visit and also a favorite trekking trail in Munnar among travelers. You can reach waterfall by 4 kms trek from Alampetty Checkpost, which is situated on Munnar - Udalampet highway and connected by buses, jeeps and private taxis from Munnar. The Thoovanam waterfalls trip is a well- escorted trek (forest guides are mandatory to company) and you can complete it in 2- 3 hours from the check post. Usually the trek is fixed between 7 AM to 10 AM and 3 PM to 6 PM. This is a pleasant and tolerable level trek through dense forest enclosed by tranquil surroundings.
