LECHMI ESTATE
Letchmi hills or Lakshmi hills is settled around 3 km away from Munnar. The tea estate considered as next to perfect place for trekking in the surroundings of Munnar. The pristine location often draws attention of travelers for trekking filled with picturesque views. The trek usually starts at the height of approximately 145 MASL followed by a refreshing walk fenced by the lush green tea plantations , which usually takes 30 to 40 minutes. The highest point of the treak is approximately 1950 MASL. Once you reach the summit, the trek will take another couple of hours while crossing the captivating serene grasslands with rocky slopes of hills and richness of tea gardens on the other side with interspersed patches of Shola forest. When the weather is clear, travelers can witness the beauty of Anaimudi “The highest peak in South Indiaâ€. Travelers can have a glimpse of endemic birds while passing through a private coffee and cardamom plantation in the Shola forest. The trek will be complete with a walk amidst tea gardens similarly to the start of the trek, from there you can head back to your hotel or guest house via cab or taxi.
